Abstract
This article describes a mixed methodological design that is proposed for analyzing the use of digital educommunication media (DEM) in Mexico’s higher education. Such design seeks to provide elements for analyzing how professors perceive the use of technology within the classroom, by suggesting two data collection stages, the first one using a survey with varied question types, such as multiple selection, hierarchization and valuing, as well as Likert-type scale and semantic differential; the second stage implies in-depth interviews with professors selected according to their time working in education and how long have they been using DEM. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we also considered the experience of professors in distance education as a criterion for being interviewed. In the implementation of this proposal, professors’ technological dependence and acceptance would be verified, moreover, it would allow generalizing teaching processes in specific knowledge fields and professors’ personal characteristics; it would also be possible to identify which DEM better match the technology acceptance model and which are far from it; as well as inquiring on professors’ perceptions regarding the efficacy and preferences for specific DEMs at the moment of delivering lectures.
