Abstract

The source of this project's objective was to promote the participation of the family in the development of reading practices. For this purpose, a diagnosis is made at the Federal Primary School "Campo Bello" that detects problems in the reading comprehension of the students, together with the absence of a close relationship between the actions of the school and those carried out in the domestic environment of the students. To overcome this problem, research-action is used and several activities are promoted at the school level with the participation of teachers, parents, and students. In the first stage, teachers establish their commitment to follow up on the proposed actions in a voluntary manner based on the Improvement Route. The second stage of the project was carried out with the implementation of eleven actions, through which it was possible to observe the improvement of perceptions regarding the taste for reading and accessibility to the library and school libraries. The evaluation of the project was made through the collection and analysis of perceptions of the participants, in addition; progress was detected in the academic results of Spanish and mathematics, in parallel, efforts are added that have an impact on the generation of a positive perception of parents regarding of the daily work that is carried out in the school and the union of these characters to carry out the improvement of the reading competence from their homes.
