Abstract

This contribution analyzes the characteristics of knowledge transfer as a value tool that can be implemented for the Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as its application and relation with several society stakeholders. Firstly, it presents the elements of a knowledge transfer process, such as its mechanisms, incentives and barriers, as well as the diverse models available in the specialized literature. Secondly, it presents the proposal of a knowledge transfer model that can be useful for higher education institutions to perform a new role in a society that considers knowledge as a strategic asset and hence, achieving a more active role, more consistent with their mission.
