Abstract

A study is present about the influence of study habits related to academic performance and desertion in inorganic chemistry courses for engineers, in the Sistema de Aprendizaje Individualizado of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Azcapotzalco. It is concluded that having good study habits, adequately prepare the student to work in this learning system, allowing him to achieve excellent academic performance, while in the opposite case can lead to the desertion of the course from, practically, the beginning of the same. It is propose a didactic planning to avoid the desertion and to improve the index of performance of the students in these courses.
