Abstract

The disciplinary training in the mathematics of the future teachers of primary education is an alternative training program to the Curriculum of the Degree in Primary Education offered by the Public teacher colleges of the National Educational System; it falls within the scope of Mathematics Education and acquires its foundation in the Theory of Didactic Situations. In particular, it emphasizes the mastery of mathematical knowledge. To achieve the purposes of training and learning of mathematics, we propose a didactic approach to the resolution of problematic situations. In this way, the disciplinary domain is combined with the pretensions of the development of mathematical competences and mathematical thinking. On the other hand, the research intends to pay attention to the conceptualization of the categories of competence and mathematical thought from empirical referents and their theoretical argumentation constructed from the forms of operation that students display during the resolution of problem situations.
