Abstract

The objective of this work was to identify the similarities of work made by digital and electronic tools of high school students in the city of Puebla regarding the traits of digital natives. This is a quantitative research, in which a survey was applied to 555 students to collect information about the tools and devices from which they connect to the Internet, the time they remain online, as well as the place where they keep the information, the information they find, among other aspects. It also explores the opinion of their parents regarding the use of the Internet and Facebook. The results confirm that high school students have characteristics of digital natives, access social networks, use the internet through mobile devices having digital vernacular practices inside and outside the school, regardless of their socioeconomic context.
