Abstract
The study "Investigative competence; The case of the Master's in Education Field Teacher Education of the UPN "-in process-, to obtain the degree of doctor in educational research by the Institute of Social and Human Research of Oaxaca, Oaxaca, is supported in the qualitative research approach, particularly, the grounded theory. The research situation started with the questions, what are the obstacles to the development of the research? and Are there explanations that shed light on the causes and reasons for the current state of research? Opting for an already established theory, due to the constitution of this research, a process of reflection on one's own practice and on belonging to the academic community, the setting of the study. The data from ten interviews allowed an open-coding analysis to be carried out, until the descriptive categories were established, which, in order to proceed with axial coding, require the quality of stability. The axial coding is approached through the exercises that fractured the descriptive categories in analytical categories and subcategories, which allowed to make the procedures to establish the main category. In addition, besides establishing the questions addressed to each subcategory to derive, respectively, the hypotheses that give light for the search of answers, fundamentals, explanations, in short, information that will be a substantive part of the selective coding, the innovative route followed in this exercise it consisted in performing contrast and grouping procedures of subcategories, first independently of the analytical categories and later, integrating them; Here the results of the established procedures are presented.
