Abstract

Women integration in higher education institutes has been a slow process, in 1970 only 17% of the national students coverage were women, there are policies for an increase in coverage and equity in enrollment of women in higher education, there is currently an increase in female participation in university classrooms, we could ask ourselves: Is there an increase of women in all the areas of study offered by higher education institutions? The Technological Institute of Cd. Jiménez is a higher education institution with 21 years of offering higher education in the south of the state of Chihuahua, it is known that it had a 36%  female enrollment in January 2015, increasing to 40% in January 2016, which indicates that there is still work to do for  feminization to take place within the institution and in each of its offered careers. Knowing the statistics by degrees allows us to influence the behavior of the professional choice of the university students, expanding the opportunity that women have to be present in all professional fields. Women's self-confidence allows them to empower themselves from their context, this includes the presence and career choice to determine and build their working life.
